This MOOC combines short theory inputs with interactive activities to help you understand and explore soils from different perspectives.
Throughout the modules you will encounter:
- short texts, images and videos
- quizzes to test your understanding
- reflection questions and forum discussions
- do-it-yourself soil experiments and creative activities
- outdoor observations and map analysis
The full MOOC takes about 32 hours to complete. We recommend following the modules in order: Modules 1 and 2 cover the basics, Module 3 explores topics in more depth, and Module 4 helps you connect everything from a broader, systems perspective. Each module builds on the previous ones, but you are free to explore lessons that interest you at any time. The course content is openly accessible without registration. If you would like to participate in forum discussions or earn a certificate, you will need to register with your email address.
To receive a certificate, you must correctly answer at least 80 % of the quiz questions throughout the course. Once you reach this threshold, the certificate option will become available automatically.
